This weekend was full of ups and downs for the Loper Women's Softball Team at Dryden Park.
Junior catcher Sarah Dunn of Papillion hit a walk off double to help the Lopers win the final game of the four game series against conference foe Regis (24-15, 16-8 RMAC) Sunday afternoon.
"We could have easily went 1-3 over the weekend, but I will take a split," said Head Coach Holly Carnes about the Lopers' effort over the weekend.
The Lopers (10-14, 7-9 RMAC) won game one Saturday, 6-2, with the help of Blair sophomore third baseman Cassie Keck's three-run home run.
Regis was able to use strong pitching to shut down the Lopers' bats in their two wins of the series. The Rangers won game two, 11-3, and the third game, 2-0.
However, Jessica Guyle, a sophomore from Mead, went 4-4 from the plate in the second game.
Jessie Thomas, a sophomore from Mead, was out for the weekend with a concussion.
With the loss of Thomas, Ashley Guyle, a senior from Mead, anchored the mound most of the weekend.
Guyle pitched a complete game during game one for the win, while freshman Kirstie Hiatt of McCook pitched a complete game for the win.
Next up for the Lopers is a road trip to Chadron to take on Mesa State and Fort Lewis on April 4 and 5.
